In the aftermath of bomb blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday last week, the police have intensified internal security in interior areas of the State.
Adding to the concerns, an anonymous caller, who was later identified and arrested by the police, claimed that the State would face terror attacks in the wake of the Sri Lankan blasts.

Thirty-eight special teams were formed and conducted vehicle and passenger checks at railway stations and major bus terminals.
Five teams were specially assigned the job of tracking those staying in lodges, guest houses and hotels in towns around Tiruvannamalai and Vellore districts. The police have requested lodge owners and hotel managers to keep tabs on their guests.
They should be ready to share the information with the authorities in case of any suspicion.
Security has been intensified in major shopping areas, cinema halls, bus stands and railway stations.
Money flow suspected
With the Parliamentary elections for Vellore being rescinded by the Election Commission on charges of money distribution for votes. Huge amounts of cash was recovered on March 29 and April 1 from the houses of DMK candidate and other party functionaries, which resulted in the countermanding of elections.
Sources within the police department said that speculations are rife that political leaders are transferring money to their aides ahead of the elections. In order to control the illegal transportation of money, liquor and freebies, special teams have been deployed at checkpoints in Katpadi, Tirupattur, Chittoor and Jolarpet.
The police have requested residents to inform them of any illegal activity that they come across by dialing 100 or messaging on the WhatsApp number of their respective police stations.
