Neighbouring the Aravallis is DLF Aralias, a condominium with tall towers and picturesque water bodies. Residents of the society say that the best part of living in Aralias is the serene surroundings and the feeling of tranquillity in a city with high pollution levels and heavy traffic.

The society is home to not only Indians but also many expats, due to mechanisms to check air quality on the premises.

The facilities offered at the condominium include three-tier security, easy access to medical facilities, state-of-the-art amenities and a golf course of international standard.

Sandhya Mathur, a resident, said, “Living at the Aralias is like living in a resort. I spend half my time here and half my time in Canada. But, I enjoy my time in India so much more because of where my home is. It is a beautiful and green place to live in and people here are incredibly warm.”

The condominium spread across 12.6 acres, with 11 towers of 17 and 18 floors. While the high ceilings and colossal balconies are a uniform and key feature in all the residences, the interiors of most of the houses are customised. Residents, while being given possession in 2008, were handed a bare structure and buyers could employ an architect of their choice to design the interior.

Recently, the 20,000-square-foot clubhouse — Club Aralias — was revamped to have a bigger community space.

Adorned with paintings from the Mughal era, intricate chandeliers, plush sofas and rich carpets, the club now houses a multi-cuisine restaurant with an open kitchen, a meeting room for formal meetings, a banquet hall, a hall and a bakery for casual meetings, a bar along with an outdoor patio, a salon, a spa, a card room and a kids’ room.

The club regularly hosts musical nights, comedy stand-up sessions, wellness workshops, book readings and launches and a bouquet of other cultural performances. Residents said that they also enjoy all festivals.

Resident and entrepreneur Monica Bindra said, “On the day of Holi, when I took my ailing father-in-law to the balcony, he burst out into a big smile and started dancing in his wheelchair seeing the colours, music and joy all around. I took his video and sent it to my relatives captioning it ‘This can happen only in Aralias’.”

There are also several amenities for residents to keep fit. Squash, badminton and tennis courts, skating rink, swimming pool, gymnasium, along with facilities for aqua zumba, tabata-style HIIT and yoga.

The condominium also has its own organic fruit, vegetable and grocery stores, concierge services, a pharmacy, an ATM kiosk, a laundry shop, 24x7 ambulance services and doctor-on-call.

Raina Jaiswal, a resident said. “Just two days ago, there was a massive accident on the premises. Within five minutes, I had a doctor at my apartment and an ambulance near my car to take care of the injured.”

Some residents say that although they could never consider living elsewhere, they would to change some rules. Raka Bal said, “This condominium is probably one of the best in the country, but there are some rules I don’t agree with, such as not taking pets for strolls on the green areas.”

Located at the heart of the city, Aralias, even after a decade of its construction remains a coveted property that embodies elegance and the essence of fine living.
