UP Board 10th High School Result 2019 Toppers: Gautam of Kanpur tops in High School and Tanu of Baghpat in Intermediate

UP Board High School and Intermediate results were declared on Saturday. Announcing the results here at Board headquarters in Prayagraj, Board director Vinay Kumar Pandey said 2019 High School results registered improvement of 4.91 per cent from previous year with over all pass percentage being registered at 80.07 per cent while the Intermediate results recorded a drop of 2.37 per cent and was recorded at 70.06 per cent.

As per the results, in High School examination, of the total 31,92,587 registered students including 31,69,583 regular and 23,004 private students, 28,39,284 appeared in the exam comprising of 15,17,984 boys and 13,21,300 girls. A total of 22,73,304 students cleared the exam including 11,63,735 boys and 11,09,569 girls.

Similarly, in Intermediate examination, of the total 26,03,169 registered students, including 25,36,432 regular and 66,737 private students, 23,52,049 appeared in the exam comprising of 12,47,375 boys and 11,04,589 girls. A total of 16,47,919 students cleared the exam including 8,03,330 boys and 8,44,58 girls.

District-wise results revealed, in High School examination, Muzzafarnagar district registered the highest pass percentage of 91.80 per cent followed by Shamli district registering 91.42 per cent for second spot and state capital Lucknow bagging third place with 91.26 per cent results.

Similarly in Intermediate examination, state capital Lucknow registered the highest pass percentage of 89.29 per cent followed by Shamli and Ghaziabad districts on second and third spot with 88.78 per cent and 87.23 per cent resectively.

For the first time examinations were held in a record 16 working days without any untoward incident reported from any examination center in state. The high school examination commenced on February 7 and ended on February 28 while the Intermediate examination after commencing on February 7 ended on March 2, 2019.

This year, as part of its strict anti copying campaign, of the total 8354 examination centers made in all 75 districts of UP, a significant 1314 centers were marked as sensitive while 448 centers had been marked as highly sensitive.

Owing to strict anti copying measures a significant 6,52,881 examinees had quit examinations midway while 403 examinees were caught using unfair means. A total of 68 FIRs were also lodged during the examinations against center superintendents and invigilators found promoting use of unfair means.

The 3.20 crore answer sheets of the examination were evaluated at 230 evaluation centers by around 1.25 lakh teachers including 1.90 crore answer sheet of High School examination by 79,064 teachers and 1.30 crore answer sheets of Intermediate by 45,732 teachers.
