KOTA: The city police have made a stunning revelation in mother-daughter double murder case committed on January 31 night this year in Bhimganj Mandi police station area. In the 248-page chargesheet submitted in court on Wednesday, the city police have incorporated IPC section 376 (rape) along with other sections for murder and robbery.
The over 18-year-old daughter of a Kota-based jeweller was raped before she was brutally murdered by their former servant and his friend, the police have stated in the chargesheet.
The Kota Bar Association has decided that no advocate from Kota would attend the case of the accused as defense counselor in court. Besides, to ensure a speedy trial, the police have categorized the matter under the Case Officer Scheme.
Two accused, identified as Mastram Meena, 28, and his friend Lokesh Meena, 20, both residents of Tirath village under Keshoraipatan police station of Bundi district on the night of January 31 this year barged into the Kota-based jeweller identified as Rajendra Vijayvergiya’s house on Gurudwara road and brutally murdered jeweller’s wife Gayatri, 45 and daughter Palak, causing multiple injuries with iron rods. The accused also robbed Rs 37 lakhs cash and gold-silver jewellery worth Rs 74 lakhs. The two accused were later arrested after three days on February 4 and were booked under sections 302, 460 and 397 of IPC.

The mastermind of the crime Mastram, being a former servant at jeweller’s shop was familiar with the family members and well aware of the interiors of the jeweller’s house. He along with his friend Lokesh entered the house on January 31 evening after well confirming that the two male heads of the family were out, one being at the shop and other, the jeweller’s father being at the temple. Since he was known to the family, Gayatri escorted him to the drawing room where Mastram attacked her with an iron rod killing her on the spot. Hearing the cries, daughter Palak rushed out but the two accused overpowered her and allegedly first raped her and then murdered her brutally by attacking her also with an iron rod.
