Posing as Delhi-based gangster Neeraj Bawana, a man allegedly stole a Hyundai i20 car on the pretext of taking it for a spin to get gifts for his girlfriend. The police registered a case and are trying to track the suspect.

The suspect allegedly got in touch with the car owner through his girlfriend. On April 16, he called the complainant, Surinder Singh, and asked him to connect him to the woman as her mobile number was switched off, police said. He met him and drove off with his car. “Initially, he did not pick up Singh’s calls and later threatened him. He told him that he was a gangster and would kill him if he asked for his car. He was posing as Neeraj Bawana. His mobile location was later found to be in Gurugram. He has been identified and will be arrested soon,” said Shamsher Singh, ACP (crime).
