Nashik: Young farmer Krishna Dongre was to give Rs 500 to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for an album. Thinking it to be some sort of a prank, the local police kept him under surveillance. This young man Dongre from Nagarsool in Yewala taluka has been upset over not receiving fair and remunerative prices for his produce.
He has been staging a variety of protests and one is being semi-clad. Previously, Dongre had met Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday and submitted his plea for better prices. Fed up with no response he brought Rs 500 to purchase the song album which he claims the family has released.
“I have been kept under police surveillance for just wanting to give the CM Rs 500 to buy the album. I don’t know what the police is doing,” said Dongre. During the rally held by Pawar in Niphad, Nashik, Dongre went semi-clad to meet him.
“Till the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena government is ousted, I plan not to wear clothes,” said Dongre. He has been roaming around in this state for the past two months, to show his rejection of the Narendra Modi government. Dongre had protested over a land issue but he claims the government tried to silence him.
Then in March, Dongre sent by Speed post his clothes and slippers to the Prime Minister’s Office. “Everybody voted for Modi thinking he will do something good for the farmers. But under BJP rule, our condition has worsened. The number of farmers’ suicides have increased,” claimed Dongre.
