A man was burnt alive as moving Swift car catches fire on Mullanpur- Raikot Road on Saturday morning. As the car was centrally locked, the victim was unable to open the door of car and burnt alive on driving seat. The delay in response time of Fire emergency services also led to accidental death. The reason behind the fire is said to be short circuit in the engine of car.

The deceased has been identified as Harnek Singh, a commission agent (Aarthiya) and former Sarpanch of village Hissowal near Mullanpur. According to information, the victim left his house in morning and when he was travelling in Swift car and reached near Grain market on Mullanpur- Raikot Road, the car catches fire.
The onlookers raised an alarm and the cops from Police station Dakha reached the spot. The onlookers with the help of locals tried to douse the fire but no avail. The Police also brought fire dousing equipments from nearby petrol Pump but the fire was not under control. The fire emergency number was informed but the delay in arrival of fire led to death of victim.

After around one hour, the fire was douse but till the time the victim was burnt alive on the driving seat of car. The Police have filed he proceedings under section 174 of CrPC and trying to find out the exact reason behind the fire and locking system of car. Meanwhile, the onlookers also recorded the entire incident in which the car was emerged into ashes.
