Police in Maharashtra's Palghar district have registered a case against a woman and her lover for allegedly killing her husband and making it look like a suicide.

Raoji Digha and Tara Vinod Pawar (22), the accused, are absconding, said district police spokesman Hemant Kumar Katkar Saturday.

Raoji and Tara allegedly strangled Vinod at Mokhada village on the night of April 25 and 26 and afterwards hanged his body from a tree to make it appear like a suicide, he said.

A case of murder under IPC section 302 has been registered against the duo at Mokhada police station, Katkar added.
