HYDERABAD: A 14-year-old girl, who went missing after attending special classes at her school in Keesara on Thursday, was found dead in suspicious circumstances in a 50-ft deep dried up well at Bommalaramaram, 40 km from here, on Friday evening. Rachakonda police, who are not sure if the girl was raped, however, believe she was murdered.
The girl hired an autorickshaw in Keesara along with two others after the classes and got down at Bommalaramaram.
While the two girls left in one direction as they belonged to a different village, the victim, who hailed from Hazipur village in Bommalaramaram mandal, was supposed to have taken another route to reach her residence, which is 4 km from the place where the three girls had got down.
When the girl did not turn up till late on Thursday, the family lodged a complaint with police, who registered a kidnap case.

Meanwhile, locals of a village, which is located two-and-a-half km from Bommalaramaram, found a school bag in a well and alerted police immediately. When cops reached the spot, they also found some beer bottles. “There are two wells which have dried up in the vicinity. In one well, the bag was found and in another, which is about 50 ft deep, we found the girl’s body. Her body was covered in leaves when we went there,’’ deputy commissioner of police (Yadadri zone) K Narayana Reddy told TOI.
Around 7 pm, cops realised there was a body inside the well. “How was the girl killed and if it was a case of sexual abuse and murder can be ascertained after we get an autopsy report,” a police official said. The area where the body was found is a dry farmland and police suspect the victim was dragged for over 100 metres before she was killed. Till last reports came in, cops, with the help of disaster management officials were trying to bring out the girl’s body. Angered by the incident, some locals damaged a police officer’s vehicle.
