Ex-Army man arrested for making hoax call

The accused has been identified as Sundaramurthy, an ex-Army man.
BENGALURU: The police on Friday late night arrested a 65-year-old ex-Army man on charges of making hoax call to Bengaluru police control room on Friday. In the phone call, the caller had claimed that major cities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Pondicherry, Goa and Maharashtra will be hit by terror attacks.
Accused Sundaramurthy had served in the Army for 20 years before becoming a truck driver, the police said.

Sundaramurthy has confessed the crime saying he thought similar incident to Sri Lanka serial bomb blasts might occur in the country and so decided to make the call.
He was arrested in Avalahalli, a place in Bengaluru rural district late Friday night.
