GHMC summer coaching camps are set to begin from May 6.
These camps will offer training in 45 different sports across 730 centres, and will be open for children and youth between six and 16 years of age. The camps will have 826 senior-level coaches training them every day between 6-8 a.m.
The corporation has 521 playgrounds, seven swimming pools, 17 sports complexes, 11 roller skating rinks and five tennis courts, where aspirants will be trained.
Those displaying outstanding talent in respective sports will be selected as a special team, and sent to local, state-level and national-level sports events. Towards this end, competitions will be held in 16 sports on May 20.
Those wishing to register for the summer coaching camps, may log on to the webpage http://www.ghmc.gov.in/sports, and those registering for cricket, tennis, skating and shuttle badminton, will need to give their Aadhaar and mobile number, along with a fee of ₹50. For other sports, the fee will be ₹10.
