With the campaigning in last leg and polling to held in Mumbai on April 29, the candidates have intensified their poll campaigns. In Mumbai South, both main rivals are now taking out rallies which include raths and drums.
According to Hindustan Times, Arvind Sawant, Shiv Sena candidate from Mumbai South and sitting MP, while campaigning in Worli’s BDD chawl had carried out a rath yatra. Behind the rath was pasted best parliamentarian award and the rally also had rhythmic beats of Maharashtrian dhol. On the other hand on the same day, Congress candidate Milind Deora’s campaign to had a rath. Milind Deora was on top of the rath with Tricolour flags he also made a bid to woo the Marathi voters.

Arvind Sawant told the Hindustan Times, “There is no other response needed for my opponent than the amount of affection I get from these people. Even in this sweltering heat, I didn’t have to ask anyone to accompany me. They are all here to show their support.”
On the other hand, Milind Deora descended from his rath occasionally to oblige groups of women with an aarti. Deora told the leading daily, “This is a Marathi area, and a lot of people are Sena’s supporters. But even in such areas, over the past few rallies, I have got a very good response.”
