HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old girl from Makhtal town in Narayanpet district, who went missing on April 20, was found in her neighbour's bathroom after almost five days, surviving on merely water. The girl had fallen from the terrace of her house into neighbour's bathroom, which was locked from outside.
The girl, Kuravakacheri Akhila, a class II student and a resident of Makhtal town, was playing alone on the terrace of her house when she slipped and fell onto the adjacent building on April 20.
"The neighbour's roof had an opening in the plastic net through which she fell into the bathroom. She sustained no injuries as there was a rope tied for drying clothes, which she held on to and then slipped inside the bathroom. The house was locked as the owner had gone to Hyderabad," said Makhtal sub-inspector, Ashok Kumar.
She screamed for help but no one could hear her and the bathroom was also bolted from outside. Her parents lodged a missing complaint the next day when they failed to find her.
"We formed three special teams to search the girl but couldn't find her," said the SI.

On Wednesday night, the house owner Venkatesh came back home around 10pm and found the girl passed out inside the bathroom and alerted the neighbours.
"The girl survived only on the water kept in the bucket for nearly five days. She was taken to a hospital and was given first aid," said the officer.
