'Significant suspicions' held over claims 'ten men hijacked a car and set it on fire' because the two victims are known to police

- Police said they were suspicious of why they refused to assist their investigation
Two men are under suspicion after they claimed they were beaten with metal poles and were dragged from their car by eight to ten men.
Their Holden Commodore was then set alight by an unknown person close by in the secluded industry area in Greenacre with NSW Police and Fire crews arriving shortly after at 3am.
The alleged victims claim they were set upon by the men of middle-eastern appearance and dragged them out of the car and drove off with another car following behind, according to 7News.

The alleged victim's Holden Commodore was set alight not far from their assault by an unknown person in the secluded industry area in Greenacre, NSW
Security cameras show the two cars moving around the corner before an unknown person sets the car on fire.
The alleged victims aged 32 and 36 were taken to Liverpool Hospital with head injuries and broken ribs.
'Police have significant suspicions around what the two alleged victims were doing in the area,' Detective Inspector Glen Fitzgerald said.

Mr Fitzgerald also said 'the fact they are not assisting us with enquires,' was also notably suspicious.
After investigating the scene police became suspicious of the circumstances around the crime.
Police said the two alleged victims are known to them and they will continue to invesitgate the circumstances around the crime but no arrests have currently been made.
Three crime scenes have been established in the area, with two on Beresford Avenue and one on Rosedale Avenue.
