Popular festival of Technopark resumes after seven years

Tech-A-Break (TAB), the biggest cultural festival in Technopark has staged a comeback after a hiatus of seven years. Technopark CEO Hrishikesh Nair flagged off the 2019 edition at the Phase 3 campus on Friday, signalling the start of the preliminary rounds of competitions.

A roadshow was organised to mark the occasion. About 3,000 participants representing 50 companies will vie for the top honours in 13 events spread over a period of 30 days. The festival will conclude with a finale to be held from May 20 to 24.

Tech-A-Break is often remembered by the old timers as one of the biggest employee engagement initiatives of the Technopark community. “When this fest was an annual affair earlier, the campus adorned a festive look for a week with all the companies and techies in the campus eager to participate and win. This event shows the cohesiveness of companies and is the real testimonial of Technopark's ‘Harmony at Work”, said Mr.Hrishikesh Nair.

Natana, the cultural forum of the Group of Technology companies (GTECH), is coordinating the Tech-A-Break activities. “Today the Technopark campus is much bigger with over 60,000 people working in around 400 companies and therefore we had to decide to extend the preliminary rounds to ensure maximum participation in all the events.” says Deepu from GTECH,

Rally

One of the major attractions of Tech-A-Break is the cultural rally presented by companies of the park.

“This year, the rally will be held on May 20. Most of the IT companies in the campus are expected to participate in the event. We have talented groups within the campus and this fest will be a platform to showcase the creative and cultural side of the techies. The finale days of Tech-A-Break will be a sight to behold at Technopark”, said Shegin from Natana.
