Wiley, a global leader in research and education, has announced a series of blended learning programs in India under the umbrella brand WileyNXT.
Chennai:
Vijaya Kumar Ivaturi, Co-Founder and CTO, Crayon Data and Member, WIAC, said “The design of WileyNXT is addressing the needs of both corporate and start-ups in terms of breadth and depth of the course ware for a market like Chennai.”
Digitisation in the last decade and the subsequent shift to the web enabled businesses resulted in four major shifts in job skills and engagement models. The first being reduction in cycle time for development and time to market which increased the dependence on skills in different tool chains in addition to conceptual knowledge.
The second shift is in terms of data driven decision-making and visualisation focus of the results which demands the relevance of sector related data set experience. Third shift is to hire more local talent beyond Tier-1 institutions to ensure scale, speed and local cultural fit at the operations site. And the fourth shift is to use accreditation of industry bodies for the new age skill sets for assessing talent pipeline for its relevance and depth.
The programs were designed in consultation with the Wiley Innovation Advisory Council (WIAC), a group consisting of senior industry leaders and academia Certifications through WileyNXT will provide students and professionals with better access to new-tech jobs as well as expertise in critical thinking and problem-solving which have been identified as major gaps for organisations.
