PANCHKULA: The
Panchkula health department is going to start 24x7 ultrasound facility in
Sector 6 civil hospital with the introduction of Diplomate in National Board (DNB) courses in the hospital.
As per information given by the hospital authorities, they had sent a request to the ministry of health and family welfare department and the government of India to start this course and approval for the same has been given to the hospital.
The DNB course will start in the
radiology department and four seats will be available for the same. Out of four seats, two are reserved for MBBS candidates while the other two will be allotted to diploma or postgraduate students.
The hospital administration said the process for all the four seats has been started. Classes for the three-year course will start either in May or June. The four students will assist in the radiology laboratory of the hospital.
Gopal Krishan Bhardwaj, principal medical officer (PMO), civil hospital Sector 6, said, “We have applied to start DNB courses for six departments of the hospital but the approval was given only to the radiology department and for four seats.”
We are planning to start round-the-clock operations of the radiology laboratory soon after the DNB classes will start and a team of four doctors will taking the classes, PMO added.
Earlier, the ultrasound facility in the civil hospital was only during the day and with the start of the course, the facility will be available 24x7 for the patients. The other departments for which the hospital has sought approval are gynae, medicine specialist, ENT, surgery and ortho department. The approval is still pending for these courses, said doctors.
