If you are a first-time visitor heading to Mint, Royapuram or Thiruvotiyur from Mannady, and not using the GPS service, there are chances you may not know which direction to head. The direction board at the intersection of Mannarsamy Koil Street and Thambu Chetty Street is rusted and the letters are hardly visible.
“Someone not familiar with this route could get easily confused. With the traffic moving constantly, it is not possible for us to wait and read the directions,” says S. Stephen, a resident of Vallalar Nagar and a motorist.
The traffic arrangement on Ibrahim Sahib Street and Mannarsamy Koil Street is a one-way till the intersection of Cemetery Road, Royapuram.
With the lack of a proper direction board, motorists can often be seen halting their vehicles and asking for directions from passersby.
Motorists want the Corpoation authorities to replace the old board with a new one at the earliest.
