Car snatching case: Two sentenced to rigorous imprisonment

AMBALA: The Ambala district and sessions judge Vikram Aggarwal has sentenced two convicts to rigorous imprisonment of 10 years each with a fine of Rs 25,000 under Section 379-B (punishment for snatching) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
On July 14, 2018, on the complaint of Dr Rattan Kumar, a case was registered, with Parao police station of Ambala district.

The complainant alleged that the accused - Sachin Chopra and Monu Vohra, both residents of Indri in Haryuana's Karnal disrict - forcibly snatched a Honda Civic car from his possession outside a Shopping Complex on National Highway (NH)-1 and had also caused injuries to him following which he was admitted to Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital. Dr Rattan along with his wife Shashi Kumar had gone for shopping in the complex.
Dr Rattan is the father of ACP Gurugram Pankhuri Kumar and father-in-law of ACP Hitesh Yadav.
