Telangana Inter results: Cornered government looks for course correction

After good results in first year, with full marks in Physics, Gracy was shocked to see second-year report card. While her score in all other subjects was above average, she got just 14 marks in Physics. Appalled, parents of the 18-year-old student from Muchintala village in Mahbubnagar approached the district collector who forwarded a request to TSBIE for re-verification. “Post that process, I secured 30 more marks that took my total score to 951 marks,” she said.

Reyazuddin always maintained an impeccable report card. A class topper, the student from Manikonda scored impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 9.5 in Class 10. While in inter second-year too he was hoping to secure more than 90%, he was taken aback to see ‘failed’ on his report. This, after getting 14 marks in Physics paper. “I cannot believe that I didn’t clear Physics test. It isn’t possible given I have almost got 90% in other subjects,” he said, blaming TSBIE for the faux pas. “It doesn’t matter whether the mistake was committed by evaluator or slipped in during tabulation. The students are bearing the brunt of it,” he added. He will apply for re-verification.

Given Science has always been his strength, Vaibhav was certain of high scores in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics. While he managed a 60, 53 and 35 in first three, he failed to clear Physics. “There is no way I could have failed in Physics as I attempted most of the questions to secure high marks. It is unfair that I have been failed despite securing high marks in other subjects. Now that it is proved that the board was at fault, I hope it will take re-verification process seriously and ensure these errors are rectified,” he said.
Here’s how Lakhan’s report card read: 90 in English, 86 in Hindi, 75 in Economics and 86 in commerce. The only black spot: Maths. “Definitely some mistake has happened while evaluating my Maths paper. It is impossible that I scored such low marks in the subject when I was very confident of doing much better. I am certain that final marks will change once my paper is re-verified. I am hoping for a total of 750 marks,” he said.
