FOXBORO – With their final pick on Day 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Patriots reinforced their tackle position by drafting Yodny Cajuste.

The 6-foot-5, 312 pounder started at left tackle for the last two seasons at West Virginia. At one point, Cajuste was considered among some of the best tackles in this draft. However, he had surgery on his quad in March. It was reported he would be clears in three months from the surgery.

Cajuste was named the Big-12 Offensive Linemen of the Year, along with Dalton Risner and Dru Samia, last season. He also fits a big need for the Patriots.

After losing Trent Brown and LaAdrian Waddle in free agency, the Pats entered this month a little light at tackle. The team returns Isaiah Wynn, coming off an Achilles injury. By adding Cajuste, they have some competition for Wynn and a potential swing tackle.
