Srinagar: Terrorists attack police post, injure cop

 Militants attacked police post in the posh Srinagar suburbs  with automatic weapons injuring a  policeman on Friday.

The incident occurred on Friday evening when militants fired on the police post Channapora.

In the incident Constable Feroz Ahmed  was injured. The injured cop was shifted to Army's 92 Base Hospital for treatment

"Stand off fire on Police Post Chanpora. Fire was retaliated. One Policeman sustained injuries & has been shifted to hospital", tweeted Kashmir Zone police.

Security forces immediately rushed to the spot and launched a massive cordon and search operation to hunt down the attackers.

"Area under cordon. Search is going on", said police.

The attack comes a day after security force dealt a major blow to Hizbul Mujhadeen when they killed its two top cadres in Mehbooba Mufti's hometown of Bijbhera in south Kashmir district of Anantnag
