Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said the Congress game plan was not to stop the BJP from forming the government at the Centre, but to come to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2022. He also said the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party had sacrificed seats in the national interest. “Our intention is clear right from the word go. We formed alliance (with the BSP and the RLD) to stop the communal party,” he said. But the Congress’ agenda was not to stop the BJP from returning to power at the Centre. “They are working for making the next U.P. Chief Minister in 2022 (when the Assembly polls are due),” Mr. Yadav said.
