PIMPRI: After conclusion of voting for Pune and Baramati Lok Sabha seats, NCP-Congress front and Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maval and Shirur constituencies have started getting reinforcements of political workers and poll campaign material from the two neighbouring constituencies.

Voting in Pune and Baramati concluded on Tuesday while the voting in Maval and Shirur is slated for Monday, April 29.

As the party veterans are addressing rallies, the local party workers are busy conducting door-to-door campaigns to distribute pamphlets and other publicity material to voters. Pune constituency recorded the lowest voting percentage in the State. The leaders and workers of both fronts are likely to work hard to increase the voting percentage and improve their performance.

In Maval, Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth, is fielded against Shiv Sena’s sitting MP Shrirang Barne. Maval has been a Shiv Sena stronghold. In Shirur, NCP’s actor-turned politician Dr Amol Kolhe is challenging candidature of three-term Shiv Sena MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil.

The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance is making strong efforts to retain the two seats while the NCP-Congress front is determined to wrest both the seats. The Shiv Sena had not faced such a fierce fight in the last two elections in these two seats.
