‘TDP’s imminent win making Opposition leaders nervous’

Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Thursday found fault with the YSRCP for keeping quiet despite the Telangana government building several “illegal projects on the Godavari.”

Addressing the media here, Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said the YSRCP, which was still operating from Telangana, was silent on the omissions and commissions of the TRS government.

The YSRCP had nothing to say about the illegal projects and the way the Intermediate examinations were conducted in that State, the Minister pointed out.

Condemning the statements of YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy against the State government and the TDP in connection with the TTD gold issue, Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said Mr. Reddy was trying to divert public attention from more significant issues such as suicide of students in Telangana.

It was the YSRCP that saw to it that funds were not released for the ‘Pasupu Kumkuma’ and ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ beneficiaries under the pretext that the model code of conduct was in force, the Minister alleged.

The YSRCP leaders were becoming nervous because it finally dawned on them that the TDP would retain power, Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said.
