The All Women Police, Kumbakonam, arrested a youth under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on a complaint from a teenage girl.
Inquiries reveal that the accused, Raman, 24, of Azhagaputhur had a relationship with a 17-year-old girl and she is said to have become pregnant.
When the girl asked him to marry her, he had started avoiding her.
Subsequently, the girl lodged a complaint with the All Women Police, Kumbakonam, who booked Raman under POCSO Act on Thursday.
