The parents of a three-year-old girl on Thursday alleged that a woman teacher of a private school in Ghaziabad sexually assaulted their child.

Police, on the basis of a complaint, registered a non-cognisable report under IPC section for voluntarily causing hurt at Kavi Nagar police station.

The mother of the girl said that the incident happened on April 24 when her daughter returned home and complained of pain in her private parts. The girl is an LKG student.

“She had started school two weeks ago. Her class teacher was rude,” said the mother. “She complained that the teacher used to beat her up. She told us that her clothes were taken off and beaten. There is an injury around her private parts. When she arrived home, she was not wearing an undergarment. She told me she was in pain. When I checked, I found the marks. I took her to the doctor.”

“The medical report stated mild redness to the body. My child is in a state of shock and fears going to school. I suspect that a pencil or a ruler object was used (to beat her up),” she added.

Members of the parents association of the school protested at the school and lent their support to the girl and her family.

They later submitted a police complaint.

“We have registered a report for voluntarily causing hurt. A medical examination of the child was also done. We are investigating the incident and have expeditiously taken up the case. If the investigation reveals that anything untoward had happened, we will add more sections to the first information report (FIR),” said Shlok Kumar, superintendent of police (city).

The members of the parents association after the incident came to light also posted the video statements of the girl’s mother on social media, along with her complaint and the private doctor’s medical report.

“It is a clear violation of the Supreme Court orders (putting video online). We will be taking legal action against people who posted the video and complaints on social media and revealed the identity of the child and her family,” Kumar added.

The spokesperson for the Ghaziabad parents’ association said that the video and the documents were posted to support the cause of the child and that they would take it down.
