After 11 years and 22 films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has reached the "Endgame."

The Herald News is at a special advance screening of "Avengers: Endgame" at Picture Show in South Coast Marketplace, sponsored by Micro Technology Solutions of Fairhaven -- and you can follow along.

The latest installment of the film series based on Marvel Comics characters is set to wrap up the saga of the Infinity Stones, six gems that control different aspects of the universe including space, time and reality. In "Avengers: Infinity War," the mad Titan Thanos captured all six stones and used them to bring what he described as "balance" to the universe -- by instantly destroying half of all life. Facing off against him are a cavalcade of Marvel superheroes. After suffering a stunning defeat at Thanos' hand that saw several of Earth's mightiest heroes vanish into dust, what remains of the Avengers -- and newcomer Captain Marvel -- must find a way to put things right. The film opens in wide release Friday.
