ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Dr. Barbara Ferrer, director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said on Thursday that quarantine orders have been issued at UCLA and Cal State LA after a recent measles outbreak.
The number of measles cases in the U.S. has hit its highest level since the year 2000, when the country declared the virus eliminated, health officials have said.
Federal health officials have confirmed 695 measles cases so far this year.
So far, no measles deaths have been reported in the latest U.S. outbreaks.
