Varanasi: Flute maestro Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and noted vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan mesmerized the music lovers on the second night of the six-day
Sankat Mochan Music festival on Wednesday night. As many as eight performances were presented during the night-long fest.
The concert commenced with Kathak performance based on the verses of Ramcharitmanas by Apurva Jha from Hyderabad. It was followed by Kathak performance by a troupe led by Pt Krishna Mohan Maharaj from Delhi.
The flute recital by Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia brought the programme to its zenith leaving everyone spellbound.
He was followed by noted vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan. Other performers included flute player Shashank Subramaniam from Chennai, vocalist Pt Bholanath Mishra from Delhi and Santoor player Abhay Rustam Sopori from Delhi. The programme concluded with the sitar recital by Pt Gaurav Majumdar.
