HISAR: Eighteen booths will be turned into ‘pink booth’ in
Hisar,
Sirsa and Fatehabad districts as part of a campaign of
Election Commission of India to increase the participation of women in the Lok Sabha polls. Officers have finalized all preparations in this regard.
Fatehabad district election officer Dhirendra Khadgata said only women employees and officers will be entrusted with the work at these
pink booths. Women will be responsible for completing the voting process and they will also be deployed as security officers, he added.
Assistant election officer of Hisar Amarjeet Singh Mann said
Hisar district will have two booths in each of its seven constituencies. While two teams will be given the duty for completing the voting process, two teams will be kept aside. A self-help group will be helping to provide food to all women personnel, he added.
He said pink booths were made in three constituencies of Fatehabad. Women will be solely responsible for booth number 37 in Fatehabad, booth number 92 in Tohana and booth number 93 in Ratia, he added.
At the same time, Sirsa’s assistant election officer (Kalanwali) and Sirsa SDM Virendra Chaudhary said booth number 23 of the Kalanwali Market Committee will be set up as pink booths. Model booths and pink booths will be revamped to be given an attractive look, he said.
