A play titled '
Sunday Wedding' was staged recently at the
Sangeet Natak Akademi. Written by veteran theatre artist
Urmil Kumar Thapliyal and directed by another veteran Sangam Bahuguna, the play revolved around a man named Damodar, who searches for his life partner and takes help from his friends and his other contacts.

Interestingly, people came in much before the given time, with the auditorium being jam-packed and a few even watching the play sitting on the stairs.
The chief guests at the event were IAS
Rajendra Tiwari,
SC Verma and
JS Mishra, who lit the inaugural lamp. Everyone then sang the National Anthem. The main character Damodar was enacted by Ambrish Bobby. The other cast included Abhishek Singh, Ashutosh Vishwakarma, Pooja Singh and Gopal Sinha.
