Thiruvananthapuram: The 11-day international film festival and Malayalam cinema mela as part of
Soorya Festival will begin at Ganesham auditorium, Thycaud, at 6.45pm on Friday. Ten films and one fiction short film will be screened during the festival.
The festival will start with the screening of Malayalam film ‘Jospeh’ directed by M Padmakumar. ‘Odiyan’ directed by Sreekumar Menon will be screened on Saturday. A talk and question and answer session with Padma award winner Nambi Narayanan will be held on Sunday and English fiction short film ‘Lucitanian girl’ directed by Bimal K H will be screened after the session.
‘Sayahnangalil Chila Manushyar’ directed by Praveen, ‘Pengalila’ by T V Chandran, ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’ by Madhupal, ‘Padmini’ by Susmesh Chandroth, ‘Micheal’ directed by Haneef Adeni, ‘Unmaadiyude Maranam’ by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ directed by Jose Sebastian and Hindi film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ will be screened during the festival. The festival will conclude on May 6.
