AGRA: A minor argument between two persons triggered a violent clash, in which gun shots were also allegedly fired between two neighbours in
UP's Mathura’s Chatta area on Wednesday. However, no one was seriously injured in the clash.
Police registered a case on Thursday after a video of the incident went viral on social media. In the 1:31-minute video two persons can be seen
firing shots from country-made pistols. The video also shows the groups indulging in
stone pelting at each other.
According to police, the clash was sparked off after a group of labourers of Aata mill indulged in arguments over some issue. Later, these labourers were joined in by two persons, Nasiruddin and Mohd Wasim, who started fighting with each other. The argument later took a violent. The incident occurred around 3:15pm.
Station house officer, Chatta, Harvendra Mishra said that an FIR was registered after seeing the video. He said, eight people were booked under various sections of IPC including 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation).
He told TOI that the main accused Nasiruddin and Wasim have been arrested and others will be nabbed soon. Two 315 bore country-made pistols have also been recovered from their possession. He said, further investigations are on.
