45-yr-old man killed in tiger attack

Chandrapur: A 45-year-old man was killed in a tiger attack in a forest under Sidewahi range on Wednesday. The deceased, Kavdu Masram, is a resident of Jatlapur village in Sindewahi tehsil.
This is 12th human kill in tiger attacks in the district this year.
Reliables sources claimed that Jatlapur is a forest village where the government has allocated revenue land to the villagers for cultivation. Masram had gone to a shrubby forest area, around 3km from the village, with a fellow villager. A tiger lurking in the area attacked Masram, while the terrified villager ran back to the village.

As soon as he informed the villagers, a group of people immediately reached the spot only to find Masram’s dead body.
It is still not clear why the duo had gone to the forest. The fellow villager is so terrified that he is unable to properly narrate the incident. Foresters have recovered some produce near the dead body. Range forest officer Arun Goud said the department has given Rs 25,000 as ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased and further probe is underway.
