Electric supervisor ends life at toll plaza office

Vadodara: An electric supervisor of Vadodara-Halol toll plaza committed suicide at the office of the toll plaza sometime after Wednesday midnight allegedly due to harassment by some persons.
Krunal Dodiya, who lived on Ajwa Road, had informed his wife Chandni on Wednesday evening that he will come home late. But when Dodiya did not turn up till late night, his wife informed his friends and colleagues. When his colleagues searched for Dodiya in the office of the toll plaza, they found him hanging with a wire in the IT room.
Dodiya had left behind a suicide note in his pocket in which he mentioned that he was being harassed. However, he did not name anyone in it. Dodiya also wrote in the note that his family is innocent and they should not be bothered after his death. Police said that he had also left behind a cheque for his wife in his wallet.
According to police, his colleagues said that he did not have any problem at work and was doing fine. Dodiya was working at the toll plaza since five years and was earning a salary of Rs 12,000.

His postmortem was conducted at the SSG Hospital on Thursday and by late evening the body was taken to his hometown Rajkot. Dodiya had moved to the city from Rajkot when he got the job and was living with his wife and three-year-old son.
“The man has not named anyone so we have requested for his call detail records. We will also take his parents’ statement when they come to the city,” said a police official.
