The Madras High Court on Wednesday sought the response of the State government on a habeas corpus petition filed by the daughter of Coimbatore serial bomb blast case convict S.A. Basha, 78, for grant of ordinary leave of 30 days. This would help Basha attend to his ailing wife and sick younger daughter.
Justices M. Sathyanarayanan and M. Nirmal Kumar ordered a short notice, returnable by Monday, since the petitioner claimed that it was essential for her father to be by the side of the two patients.
