Gurgaon: A woman and three others were sentenced to
life imprisonment on Wednesday for her husband’s
murder in 2015. Priyanka (20) and her paramour Arun Yadav (23) conspired to kill Monu Yadav (22) to usurp his property and business in Gurgaon, the prosecution had argued.
Monu Yadav who assisted his father in his stone-crushing business was shot dead in Hailey Mandi on April 29, 2015. Two assailants shot him from close range in his head and back, killing him on the spot. The autopsy revealed that seven bullets were pumped into his body.
Police said that the
conspiracy to kill Monu was hatched by his wife Priyanka, along with Arun Yadav — the brother of her sister’s husband. Yadav and Priyanka got married on May 12, 2014 but she was allegedly in an extramarital affair with her relative and wanted to get rid of her husband.
The duo hired the shooters — Mukesh and Lalit, added police. A case was registered under
IPC sections 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and sections, 25, 54 and 59 of the
Arms Act at the Pataudi police station.
