model booths will be set up in the city for voting on April 29. The first youth, male, female and physically challenged voter to cast vote in their category will get a certificate for their achievement.
The model booths have facilities of adequate shade, chairs, ramps for physically challenged persons, first aid, potable cold water and proper care for kids of voters.
District election officer Vijay Vishwas Pant said in a meeting with the representatives of social organizations, which have raised the model booths, that a competition for best model booth would also be held and top three model booths would be given commendation letters.
Pant said that model booths represent the zeal of Kanpur people and must be free of any political representation. Since balloon was election symbol in election, therefore, it would not be used in decoration of model booths.
The organizers could use flowers, leaves and other material for decoration.
The district magistrate praised the efforts of Raghvendra Seth, who would raise as many as 15 model booths. He called the Kanpurites to come forward for creation of model booths.
Light snacks, toys for kids would be available in model booths, he added.
