observer Santosh Kumar, on Thursday, apprised all political parties that 133 micro observers would keep a vigil on all polling booths of the city on the day of voting on April 29 and added that all the preparations for elections had been completed.
Addressing the representatives of all political parties at NIC room in collectorate, Kumar said that pecial security arrangements have been planned for critical and most sensitive polling centres and added that webcast has been planned for some polling booths. The observer said that digital video photography would be done at all booths and voting would be held in between 7am and 6pm.
District election officer and the district magistrate Vijay Vishwas Pant, deputy election officer Kehari Singh and additional district magistrate land acquisition and representatives of various political parties were present at the meeting.
Pant appealed to the residents to cast their votes on April 29 and asked them to reach the polling booth with their neighbor on the biggest festival of democracy.
The election office has planned to webcast 343 polling stations of ten legislative assemblies of the city and critical polling stations of the city. Kidwai Nagar, Bithoor, and Kalyanpur have three critical polling stations each, while Govind Nagar, Sisamau and Mahrajpur have two critical polling stations each and Aryanagar and Cantonment have one critical polling station.
The DEO said that maximum 43 polling stations are in Mahrajpur where webcasting will be done while Bithoor is second with 40 polling stations and Bilhaur and Kidwai Nagar are at the third and fourth place with 38 and 37 polling stations for webcast Govind Nagar and Ghatampur are at fifth place jointly with 35 polling stations selected for webcast.
Kalyanpur, Cantonment, Arya Nagar and Sisamau are at 6th, 7th and 8th place with 32, 31, 28 and 24 webcasting polling stations.
