A matrimonial website with video profiles was launched in the city on Wednesday.

“Initially, we are offering free registrations, but individuals who want to post advertisements will be charged depending on the kind of services they require,” said Suresh Nair of Dil Ke Rishte.

Citing industry reports, he said about 43 million users in the country use online matrimonial sites and 11% of total internet traffic is used for finding ‘soulmates’. Currently, 6% of marriages are taking place with the help of matrimonial sites.

“We are ensuring that only verified profiles go online and there are no fake profiles or users with hidden intentions using the site,” said Mr. Nair, as he spelled out the range of services on the site including online chatting without disclosing numbers, time-bound profile links, etc.
