Two students end lives

Two Intermediate second-year students who failed in their exams committed suicide in Medak and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts on Wednesday.

According to Chinnashankarampet police, one Chakali Raju, 17, took the intermediate examination with CEC as options, failed in two subjects.

Depressed over this, he committed suicide by hanging on the premises of a school in the village.

His body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem.

In a second incident reported from Yadadri, Aakaram Nithi, a 19-year-old Inter second-year student, committed suicide in the early hours of Wednesday, the Bommalaramaram police reported. According to the information provided by family members, Nithi remained calm since the Intermediate results were announced last week. However, her parents found her hanging from the tin roof ceiling on Wednesday morning.

Bommalaramaram police said they were informed about the incident only at 3 p.m., as the family initially hesitated to report the incident.

Nithi was a Bi.PC student at Innovative Junior College in Bibinagar.

Sub-inspector K. Venkatesh said there were no suspicious reasonsand according to preliminarily probe, it was understood that “she was dejected over her failure to get good marks.

Post-mortem of the deceased was conducted at the Area hospital later in the evening.
