LokSabha 2019: National security is key issue for residents of posh areas

PUNE: Sakal Times visited polling booths at prominent areas like Prabhat Road, Bhandarkar Road, Bavdhan, Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar and others. The voter turnout was good and many said that they want to exercise their right to vote to make their country stronger. The top issue in their mind was of national security. 

Samta Mundra, a 49-year-old woman from Prabhat Road, said, “Ï am happy to have exercised my right to vote. The process of voting went through smoothly and everyone inside the polling booth were very cooperative.” 

Hemant Ketkar (45), a resident of Kalyani Nagar, said, “This is Lok Sabha election so it is very important to think about bigger and national issues. I have voted for development and issues of national interest. I went to the polling booth at 8 am and after my voting, I am also trying to help people if they are facing any issues in voting or finding their names.”

Nandeetha Natrajan (33), a Wanawadi resident, said, “For past three years, I am living in Mumbai so I had to travel to vote. I have voted for a better and inclusive India.”

Vrushali Vibandik (26), a Wanawadi resident, said, “It is important to take part in this festival of democracy and exercise your right. I have voted for a better government.”

Apurva Gaurav, who is an IT professional from Kharadi, said that his vote is always for development. Also, he added that this time he voted only for national integrity.

Pawan Kumar, an IT professional at Salisbury Park, said that his vote is only for national security and integration. “If the border is secure then we Indians are secure,’’ he said.
