Ethan Ferreria went six strong innings and visiting Durfee broke open a close game with a four-run sixth inning en route to an 8-0 baseball win at Case on Tuesday.
Ferreira allowed three hits and struck out four batters. He walked one.
At the plate, Durfee (3-1) got two hits each from Jose Arrieta and Jose Pabon. Curtis Perry drove in four runs.
The Hilltoppers struck for single runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings before their big sixth.
Perry drove in the first run of the game with a double, while Arrieta drove in a run in the third inning.
Case fell to 1-5 and will play at Seekonk on Wednesday.
Dartmouth 5, Bishop Stang 2: Luke Bala went 2-for-3 and drove in both of Bishop Stang's runs, but it wasn't enough as the Spartans dropped their first game of the season to fall to 6-1.
Connor Walsh also went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Bishop Stang.
The Spartans play at Bishop Feehan on Thursday.
Softball
Old Rochester 8, Diman 1: Patryce Vital knocked in Sarah Alston for the Bengals' lone run.
Alston had two of Diman's four hits, including a triple.
Diman fell to 8-1.
Boys' Track
Diman sweeps tri-meet: Topher Frank won three events as the Bengals defeated Tri-County 96-35 and Bishop Connolly 90-41.
Frank won the javelin (141-10), 800 (2:12) and the 200 (23.7) as the Bengals improved to 3-0.
Other winners for Diman were James Vacanti (52.7 in the 400), Camron Botelho (40-31/2 in the 400) and Justin Leduc 919-0 in the long jump).
Edwin Fuentes was second in the 100 with a state-qualifying time of 11.1.
Girls' Track
Diman tops Tri-County, falls to Bishop Connolly: Kim Lajoie won the 100 (13.7) and the 200 (28.8) as the Bengals topped Tri-County 94-32, but fell to Bishop Connolly 69-65.
Ronnie Leapaga won the shot put with a throw of 28-1/2, while Sarai Benitez won the 400 (71.0).
Diman is 2-1.
Boys' Tennis
Durfee 5, New Bedford 0: Javier Beltran and Tom Panchley both won their singles matches in straight sets as Durfee cruised to this Big 3 victory.
The Hilltoppers won third singles by forfeit.
At first doubles, Baron Snizek and Ben Menezes won 6-3, 6-2, while Cam Jacob and Chris Panchley were also 6-3, 6-2 winners at second doubles.
Durfee improved to 2-5 and 1-0 in league play.
Bishop Stang 3, Bishop Connolly 2: Pat Clark and Jeff Lucarelli won their singles matches for the Spartans.
For Bishop Connolly, Chris Mulvey won his No. 2 singles match 6-4, 6-2.
The Cougars got their second points at first doubles where John Rego and Luc Domogala were 6-4, 6-2 winners.
Girls' Tennis
Bishop Stang 5, Bishop Connolly 0: Sailor Nordstrom, Sophie Lynch and Gabrielle Joquin all cruised in their singles matches, as did Caroline Downes/Fiona Lonergan and Kassandra Stone/Maeve Egger in their doubles matches.
Bishop Stang is 6-1.
Durfee 3, New Bedford 2: The Toppers swept the doubles as Catarina Pereira and Allyson Holding won 6-1, 7-5, while Jessy Heneine and Kyndra Carneiro earned a win at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2.
Also winning for Durfee was Amaya Travassos at third singles, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
Durfee is 3-4.
