Emerson Colonial Theatre will host an evening of conversation with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the top screenwriting team behind the final two “Avengers” films and the “Captain America” franchise. In a rare appearance, the writing team comes to Boston for a speaking engagement about storytelling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Thursday, May 16, at 8 p.m.

Guests will get an inside look at the process of creating a new genre of superhero features. Through interweaving characters and storylines from more than 20 preceding films, while layering in humanity, thought-provoking themes and political self-awareness, Markus and McFeely cemented their position as key architects of this legendary series. The discussion will encompass their collaboration, their backstory, their inspirations and what it takes to write these epic films, gigantic in scope, yet intimate in nature, that consistently delight both critics and audiences alike.

Tickets start at $30 and go on sale to the general public Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m.. Additionally, a limited number of $90 tickets include entry to a pre-show meet-and-greet experience with the writers.
