None wants to miss the first day first show; it is ‘endgame’ after all

‘Whatever it takes’ is the punchline not only for the Avengers who have sharpened their weapons to avenge their fallen mates against Thanos in the endgame, but also for the Marvel fans who are leaving no stone unturned to grab the tickets for the first day first show.

Websites crash

When Shivani and her friends tried to key-in the details for the advanced booking online for the much awaited ‘Avengers: Endgame’ movie which is scheduled to hit the screens on Friday, it ended in disappointment despite several rials as the websites crashed apparently due to heavy traffic.

“I am still trying my best to lay my hand on the tickets. Whatever it takes. It is endgame after all,” Shivani says.

The latest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Avengers series, which has been running for the last 11 years, is said to be the concluding edition of its first phase of Avengers and the fans are in a frenzy to grab the tickets and it does not matter even if it is in the front row.

According to an online ticket booking site, more than 1 million tickets were sold within 24 hours when the online advance bookings were opened on Sunday, breaking all the records of several Indian blockbusters.

The Avengers series has caught the imagination of the city youth and every time a movie is released, the fever catches up fast.

“I am quite excited for the endgame and I cannot wait to hit the theatre with my friends. Finally, it’s time to know how the remaining Avengers bring back half of the population who fell prey to the infinity gauntlet of Thanos,” says Akhilesh Varma, a B. Tech first year student. “It was difficult to get the tickets but I could manage using my theatre contacts,” he adds.

But all are not as lucky as Akhilesh. Rahul Gorle and his friends, who call them great Marvel (creators of Avengers) fans, are a disappointed lot as they have to write their exams on the release day.

“As soon as our exams end, we will rush to the theatre. It does not matter if the ticket prices burn a hole in our pockets,” Rahul says.

Among all the Avengers heroes, the city has a big fan following for Captain America, Thor and Iron Man.

Craze for merchandise

The craze is not confined to the tickets only, but many youngsters are purchasing Marvel Avengers T-shirts and have plans to wear them to the theatre to showcase their love for their super heroes.

The last eight minutes

As the ‘Avegner bug’ has bitten, the talks among the fans revolve around the last eight minutes of the movie which is said to be the final moments of the series.

The ‘8-minute’ craze hit the fans across the world when Robert Downey Junior who plays the role of Iron Man said in an interview that the last minutes of the movie was going to be the best of the entire Avengers series as everyone would have a screen presence.
