Allegations Suggest Over 12,000 Boy Scouts Were Sexually AbusedAllegations are surfacing that over 12,000 Boy Scout members were allegedly sexually abused by troop leaders and volunteers.????ABC News reports that Victim’s Rights Attorney, Jeff Anderson, publicly released the numbers at a press conference alleging that Boy Scouts of America has “perversion files” on 7,189 scoutmasters or other volunteers accused of sexually abusing 12,254 children.????Boy Scouts of America has confirmed the existence of a database of ‘ineligible files’ dating back to the 1920s who they say may have posed risk to youth members.????In a statement, however, the organization clarified that quote “AT NO TIME HAVE WE EVER KNOWINGLY ALLOWED A PERPETRATOR TO WORK WITH YOUTH, AND WE MANDATE THAT ALL LEADERS, VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF MEMBERS NATIONWIDE IMMEDIATELY REPORT ANY ABUSE ALLEGATION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT.”????According to the AP, some states are working to change the statute-of-limitations for sex abuse victims to sue for damages…????...And already, sexual abuse settlements are threatening to bankrupt the organization.??
