Parents Are Making A Huge Financial Error with Adult Children

((VO-Kids in School))??I remember in grade school when my parents paid for me to eat, sleep, and participate in activities!????((VO-Older Kids with Parents))??As an adult, that’s not the case anymore!

But it turns out many adult children are still receiving financial support from mom and dad!????((VO-Text))??I can’t even get a proper text back from mom and dad!????((VO-Counting Money))??According to a study by Merrill Lynch, 79 percent say they give some financial support to their kids and it’s often setting them back!????((VO-Retirees))??The study shows that a majority of parents are putting their adult child’s interest before their own need to save for retirement.????((VO-Bills/Empty Piggy Bank))??And get this!

A new bankrate study backs up these claims noting that 17 percent of couples making less than a combined $50 grand a year are helping at least one child over 18 with their bills and not saving money for retirement!????((VO-Rolling in Dough))??Well hopefully the kid becomes a billionaire that way their parents will be well taken care of in old age!????((VO-Gas, Groceries, Phones))??A study conducted last year for Country Financial found that ⅓ of adults over the age of 21 get help from a parent or guardian covering things like gas, groceries and their cell phone bill!????((VO-Kids with Money))??Man, I gotta say...I’m jealous.

I just really hope the kids plan to pay it forward once they get in a comfortable financial situation!

It’s the least they can do.??
