Liverpool keeping tabs on Lyon youngster Aouar

2019-04-24 21:19

Cape Town - Liverpool have been linked with a move for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar at the end of the current campaign.

The Reds remain fully focused on chasing silverware at the business end of the season, but that is not stopping work going on behind the scenes regards new signings.

Aouar has now emerged as a possible target after he established himself as a key man for Les Gones over the last two seasons and impressed in the Champions League last term.

Liverpool came close to landing Fekir in the summer, and although they have been linked with a fresh move for him, it looks as though the Reds may have now turned their attentions to Aouar instead.

It remains to be seen if Lyon will listen to offers however, as they are eager to keep hold of the playmaker and the 20-year-old is under contract until 2023.

Lyon are prepared to cash in on Tanguy Ndombele this summer, however, and Fekir may also depart - and if they receive big fees for the duo, they will be under no pressure to sell Aouar.
