Congressman Steve King has created a lot of controversy with his statements on a number of issues.
??The Iowa Republican is now comparing the struggle that he’s going through to the persecution of Jesus Christ.
??He was talking specifically about his white nationalism comments where he asked in an interview with the New York Times why terms like white nationalist and white supremacist have become offensive.
??And according to the Sioux City Journal, King, during a town hall event said quote, “For all that I’ve been through, and it seems even strange for me to say it, but I am at a certain peace, and it is because of a lot of prayers for me.”??Adding, “...and I have better insight into what He went through for us partly because of that experience.” ??The experience he was highlighting was, after the comments to the Times, more than 400 House members voted to rebuke King.
??He was also stripped of his committee assignments as a result of the interview.
